Dog Friendly Beaches To Bring Your Furry Friend In & Near Toronto

We’re delighted that so many of you have told us how much you love our collection of dog-friendly destinations. We love it too! Traveling with the Duchess is definitely a learning process, but being able to take her on our family adventures means so much to us.

Are dogs allowed in Toronto? Damn, yes! Despite being known as the concrete jungle, Toronto still has plenty of parks, dog parks, and more. Even inner city yards like College Park are filled with greenery to make going outside with the dog easier.

It’s time to introduce Toronto to a host of dog-friendly destinations. After all, we’ve lived here for years and it’s now less than an hour away. You can now find a more in-depth “Toronto with Dogs” post in my Pet Friendly Hotels in Toronto post, which includes complete information about the hotel as well as more information on each activity and restaurant.

Looking for a pet-friendly hotel in Toronto? You found it at the Chelsea Hotel. (All photos taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

Pet Friendly Ontario

We absolutely loved our stay at Chelsea and now understand why families love coming here so much!

While Toronto doesn’t have a full indoor water park, the Chelsea Hotel’s family entertainment area has plenty of water park elements, including the super fun Spiral Water Slide that juts out of part of the building.

Please note that you can find a more comprehensive list of dog activities at the Chelsea Hotel in my Pet Friendly Hotels in Toronto post.

Hang out at the Chelsea Hotel and head out on the town with your dog (or kids if you have them). I’ll give a brief overview here, but you can find out more in my pet-friendly hotels in Toronto.

Dog Friendly Places & Activities In Ontario

Cherry Beach Dog Park is amazing and the only beach area I know of so far.

With patio season in full swing, few cities do it better than Toronto. This section is sure to grow over time, and more details will be included in my article on Pet Friendly Hotels in Toronto.

On a rainy day in Toronto, Black Lab Brewing is a great place to grab food and drinks. Since it’s not technically a restaurant (although it does serve food), dogs are even allowed inside.

I love that Mildred Temple Kitchen is dog friendly! They even placed cookies and a bowl of water at the porch entrance that read “Dogs deserve brunch, too.” One of the best brunches in Toronto.

Ontario Drives: Southwestern Ontario Itinerary

We had been planning the trip to Lake Placid described above for a long time before deciding to research geographically convenient pee breaks. I told the kids that Ottawa could be a great place and they were excited to return. It’s been a few years and this is one of their favorite cities.

Are you reading this in summer? Then you should check out my weekend trip to The Ontario Post – Ottawa stands out!

There are so many things to do with your dog in Ottawa that you would need at least one more visit to finish this post… but you should do it all in one weekend!

What a pleasure it is to finally live here. This is truly a beautiful hotel and you feel like royalty from the moment the valet takes your car keys. Fairmont hotels are known for being dog-friendly (some even have pet dogs), and this hotel is no exception. This is definitely the more expensive option of the two, but for those who need a little luxury in their lives, this is the place to be. A dog collar studded with diamonds is coming

Dog Friendly Road Trips, According To Their Humans

Fairmont Chateau Laurier is a luxury, pet-friendly hotel located in Ottawa near many amenities, surrounded by beautiful parks and offering breathtaking views. (All photos taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

Please note that you can find a more comprehensive list of dog activities at the Fairmont and Westin hotels in my article Pet-Friendly Hotels in Ottawa.

We have stayed at Westin hotels many times over the years, but this past winter was our first time staying at a hotel in Ottawa. And it is very dog friendly. The Westin Ottawa is also a good test for those who are confident they have completed their indoor training. There are so many floors and going from waiting for the elevator to crossing the street to the actual grass area is quite a challenge.

As with the Toronto entry above, you can now find a more in-depth “Ottawa with Dogs” post in my Ottawa Pet-Friendly Hotels post, with all the details on selected Ottawa hotels, as well as more information about what each hotel does. The same goes for restaurants.

Things To Do With Your Dog In Ontario This Winter

Note that these are just highlights; You can find a detailed list with more information in my article Pet Friendly Hotels in Ottawa.

From our many years of walking experience in the Walking Village, we already know that people love bringing their dogs to Tremblant. But until we became dog parents, we didn’t know the village was so pet-friendly and that the shops even had stickers on their doors. I lost count of how many stores have green hearts; This is the rule rather than the exception.

Summer will be a truer test for Tremblant when we no longer have puppies and can go for walks and even try cycling with the Duchess. As for the restaurant… We had no trouble keeping the Duchess in shape and in good spirits, but for all the pet-friendly places we encountered in store, it was actually surprising that only one heated patio was open (Lucille’s). Confused about pet policy. But more about the restaurant below.

My Things to Do in Mont-Tremblant post is probably the most comprehensive guide to everything in Mont-Tremblant you’ll find online, so be sure to head over there for more Mont-Tremblant inspiration! Fairmont Tremblant Hotel

The Best Day Trips From Toronto With Dogs Are Closer Than You Think!

We are pleased to present Miss Duchess, our long-time favorite residence on the slopes. Fairmont Tremblant is one of three pet-friendly hotels in the pedestrian village of Mont-Tremblant and the only ski-in/ski-out property.

They love dogs! (In fact, there once was a guard dog who had his own kennel in the hallway.)

I offer a brief overview of the Fairmont in this post, as I have a recently updated extended Fairmont Tremblant review that takes a broader look at the entire property; Don’t forget to check this out too.

Looking for other places to stay in Tremblant if you’re leaving your dog at home? Here is a complete guide to hotels in Mont-Tremblant as well as some winter activities in Mont-Tremblant.

Sandy Paws Equal Happy Dogs

We’ve stayed at the pet-friendly Fairmont Tremblant several times, but this was our first visit with our dog and it was a huge success! (Photo taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

Since the village is only for pedestrians, it is like a dream to wander around without having to worry about cars and roads. There are many other dogs in the village which offer your dog many opportunities to socialize. We met one dog owner who said his dog simply wasn’t friendly enough to interact with.

Should you take your dog to Mont-Tremblant? Definitely! Read my article to make sure you know what it is. (Photo taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

A dog in a china shop? From where! Studio Creatif is also listed in my Tremblant Summer and Winter Activities Guide to help you find things to do during the rain.

Wolfdog Wonders: A Day Trip To Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary Near Calgary

This is one area where Tremblant can improve its pet-friendliness. I’m not sure if Quebec restaurant rules legally prohibit dogs (except service animals, of course) from joining families on outdoor patios, but we were surprised to find that dogs were not allowed when the new heated patio was open the weekend we visited. . Lucille’s seems to have an exciting atmosphere and we hope they have a consistent practice before our next visit. For more information on this (and all Mont-Tremblant restaurants), see my Mont-Tremblant restaurant post.

Unfortunately, we did not choose to have the fifth member of our family participate in any culinary experience, except for room service. We look forward to visiting in warm times
